{"id":1223,"date":"2000-11-04T19:25:09","date_gmt":"2000-11-05T01:25:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.uscho.com\/2000\/11\/04\/brown-dumps-minnesota-in-ot\/"},"modified":"2010-08-23T11:54:25","modified_gmt":"2010-08-23T16:54:25","slug":"brown-dumps-minnesota-in-ot","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wwwproxy.uscho.com\/recaps\/2000\/11\/04\/brown-dumps-minnesota-in-ot\/","title":{"rendered":"Brown Dumps Minnesota in OT"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Minnesota outshot Brown and led until the final four minutes of regulation but the fourth-ranked Bears came from behind to upset the second-ranked Gophers 3-2 in overtime.<\/p>\n<p>Kim Insalaco scored the game&#8217;s first goal when her shot was deflected by a Minnesota player past goalie Erica Killewald nine minutes, 48 seconds into the opening period.<\/p>\n<p>Laura Slominski got that goal back for Minnesota less than four minutes later and Tracy Engstrom scored on a breakaway at 2:50 of the second period to give the Gophers a 2-1 lead.<\/p>\n<p>The scored remained that way until Melissa Rennison tipped in a pass from Kathleen Kauth with 3:23 to play in the third period.<\/p>\n<p>Kauth got the winner when Cara Gardner threaded a pass to her through the neutral zone and she forced the puck through Killewald with 1:12 left to play in the overtime.<\/p>\n<p>Minnesota, which was 0-for-7 on the power play, outshot the Bears 38-32 but sophomore Pam Dreyer, who recorded an assist on the game-winning goal, made 36 saves.
