Fredonia netminder Will Hamele slammed the door shut on the previously red-hot Oswego offense, making 37 saves in a 4-0 shutout\u00a0at Romney Field House Friday night.<\/p>\n
Despite the Lakers’ tally of 37 shots on goal, the Oswego offense had a hard time producing solid scoring opportunities against a gritty Fredonia State defense,\u00a0and was anemic on the power play, going 0-for-8 with the man advantage.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Dave Barnett scored the first goal of the game at the 13:30 mark of the first period, slipping the puck past Oswego netminder Joe\u00a0Lofberg during a scrum in front of the net. Dave Mugavero assisted on the play.\u00a0<\/p>\n
A tripping penalty on Oswego’s Jared Marinich helped Mugavero rack up a power-play goal in the second period, thanks to assists from Marc Fattey and B.J. Bouschor.<\/p>\n
Erik Dolesh and Erik Hlavaty scored insurance goals in the third to close it out for Fredonia, which improved to 1-1-1 in the SUNYAC. Oswego’s record goes to 2-1-0 in-conference.\u00a0<\/p>\n
