Matt Yeats stopped all 21 UMass-Lowell shots as the University of Maine blanked the River Hawks, 2-0, Friday night in front of 2,687 at the Tsongas Arena. <\/p>\n

The loss was the second straight for UML (3-6-0, 1-6-0 Hockey East) and fifth in its last six games. The Black Bears (4-3-2, 2-1-1 Hockey East) enjoyed their second straight victory. <\/p>\n

Maine opened the scoring 11 minutes, 30 seconds into the first period as sophomore C Lucas Lawson registered his third goal of the season off assists from sophomore LW Rober Liscak and freshman RW Todd Jackson. <\/p>\n

Junior RW Niko Dimitrakos, playing in his first game of the year, gave Maine a 2-0 cushion 4:16 into the second period as he tucked in a goal off a textbook give-and-go from senior LW Dan Kerluke. <\/p>\n

Both teams skated through an uneventful third period until Dimitrakos and sophomore D Ron Hainsey each received a game disqualification for fighting. <\/p>\n

Junior G Cam McCormick stopped 24 shots for UML as he slipped to 0-3 on the year. <\/p>\n
