The win vaulted the Lakers over the Gaels into second place in the MAAC.<\/p>\n<p>Adam Tackaberry&#8217;s fifth goal of the season at 6:49 of the first period gave Mercyhurst a lead it would never relinquish.<\/p>\n<p>Peter Rynshoven&#8217;s second goal of the season and Brad McDonald&#8217;s first of the season extended the Lakers&#8217; lead to 3-0 after one period of play.<\/p>\n<p>Tim Krueckl got the Gaels on the board at 1:47 of the second period, but Mercyhurst put the game away with three more tallies in the third.<\/p>\n<p>Tackaberry scored his second of the game to make it 4-1 before Louis Goulet scored shorthanded and Mark Stamp finished the scoring to make a final of 6-1.<\/p>\n<p>Mercyhurst improved its record to 6-3-2 (6-0-1 MAAC), and Iona fell to 6-6-2 (5-3-2 MAAC).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Mercyhurst Lakers stopped a two-game losing streak and extended Iona&#8217;s winless streak to three with a 6-1 win.
