Ciro Longobardi scored one goal and assisted on another to lead Connecticut past Canisius, 4-1, on Saturday evening at the UConn Ice Arena in Storrs.<\/p>\n

With the win, UConn remains in fourth place in the MAAC standings, improving its record to 10-13-3 overall (10-6-2 MAAC). Canisius remains in the fifth position in the standings, dropping its record to 10-10-3 overall (8-8-3).<\/p>\n

Matthew Shewchuk scored Canisius’ only goal of the game at the 12:15 mark of the first period.<\/p>\n

The Huskies went on to score the next four goals in the victory. Mike Boylan tied the score with just less than two minutes remaining in the first stanza.<\/p>\n

The two teams played scoreless in the second period, with the Huskies outshooting the Ice Griffs, 9-0.<\/p>\n

Longobardi scored the game-winner at 2:39 mark of the third period. Ron D’Angelo scored a power play tally at 6:51 followed by an unassisted Anders Johnson tally at 15:04 of the third.<\/p>\n
