ITHACA, N.Y.<\/b> — Christine Bestland scored twice for Mercyhurst, which earned its second straight women’s Frozen Four appearance with a 3-2 win at Cornell on Saturday.<\/p>\n
Molly Byrne also scored for the Lakers (24-8-4), who will make their fourth Frozen Four trip in the last six years next weekend in Hamden, Conn.<\/p>\n
Emily Fulton scored twice for Cornell (24-6-4), the second bringing the Big Red within a goal with 4:29 remaining in the third period.<\/p>\n
But Mercyhurst goaltender Amanda Makela (29 saves) and the defense shut the door from there.<\/p>\n
