PRINCETON, N.J. — Kelsey Koelzer scored 25 seconds into overtime as No. 8 Princeton defeated St. Lawrence 4-3 on Saturday at Hobey Baker Rink.

Koelzer’s winning blast was set up by the play of Jaimie McDonell, who gathered the puck in the far corner and sent the puck to Kimiko Marinacci. Marinacci wasted no time getting the puck to Koelzer, who was locked and loaded for the one-timer at the left point for her 15th goal of the year.

The Saints outshot the Tigers 18-7 in the first stanza, netting the period’s only goal on the power play. Hannah Miller fed Amanda Boulier for the shot from the blue line, and Brooke Webster deflected the puck past Kimberly Newell for her 10th goal of the season.

The Tigers offense came back firing early in the second as Keiko DeClerck and Molly Contini scored just 3:07 apart. First, Karlie Lund picked off an outlet pass by the Saints and got the puck to DeClerck, who fired from the right circle for her third goal of the year.

Then, after another turnover picked up by Lund, Morgan Sly carried the puck into the zone along the boards, skated to the middle and fired a shot that bounced to Contini in the slot for the rebound goal.

Jenna Marks scored at 14:40 to knot the game 2-2, as Marks skated in with Justine Reyes on the give and go for her sixth tally of the year.

Molly Strabley regained the lead for the Tigers at 4:01 of the third, blasting a shot from the point set up by Marinacci and Lund.

But the lead was short-lived as Marks and Reyes teamed up again to tie the game 3-3. Marks picked up the puck left by Lydia Grauer and sent the puck cross-ice to Reyes, who dragged the puck through two defenders and fired for her seventh of the season.

Newell improved to 16-5-1 overall and earned her 50th collegiate win, stopping 36 shots in the victory for the Tigers. Grace Harrison made 28 saves in the effort for the Saints.

Before the game, Princeton announced that the game was being dedicated to former Tigers captain Denna Laing, as several charity events were being held to benefit The Denna Laing Fund.

Fans participated in several fundraising events such as chuck-a-puck, a silent jersey auction and a bake sale, and also purchased and wore custom toques with the phrase “#14Strong” in support of Laing, who suffered a spinal cord injury during the NWHL Winter Classic in December.
