PRINCETON, N.J.<\/strong> — Loren Gabel scored twice and Shea Tiley made 24 saves as Clarkson defeated Princeton 4-2 on Saturday.<\/p>\n Princeton’s Cassidy Tucker opened the scoring midway through the first on the power play, deflecting a point shot from Kelsey Koelzer and Morgan Sly. Then Sly tallied a goal of her own at 3:36 on a feed from Karlie Lund and Tucker.<\/p>\n The Tigers seemed to have the momentum early in the second, but Tiley shut the door until the Golden Knights broke through with a power play goal of their own at 10:31. Gabel poked in a rebound for her first goal of the game — assisted by Savannah Harmon and Cayley Mercer. Just 1:31 later, Michaela Pejzlova tied the game on a deflection as Jessica Gillham fired from the point.<\/p>\n Clarkson gained their first lead in the contest at 1:07 of the third on a goal by Kelly Mariani, and the Golden Knights held on until Loren put the game away at 19.54 with an empty net tally.<\/p>\n Alyssa DaSilva finished the game with 28 saves for the Tigers.<\/p>\n Prior to the game, former Princeton team captain Denna Laing performed a ceremonial puck drop as the Tigers hosted Alumni Weekend and a “Denna Day” fundraiser.
