Michigan Tech’s Colin Murphy scored with 22.1 seconds to go in regulation time as Michigan Tech salvaged a 4-4 tie at St. Lawrence Saturday night.<\/p>\n
The Huskies took three out of four points in the two-game weekend series, winning Friday’s game 7-1 and are 1-1-1 on the season. St. Lawrence is 1-2-1. The Saints had overcame a 3-1 deficit with two third-period goals to take their first lead of the weekend in Saturday’s game.<\/p>\n
Michigan Tech opened the scoring with a shorthanded goal for the second straight night. Brett Engelhardt scored his third goal of the weekend off a feed from Bryan Perez with the game just 1:43 old. The Saints battled back to tie when Ryan Glenn scored on a rising wrist shot at 9:33 of the first period.<\/p>\n
The Huskies took a 3-1 lead in the second period with goals just 48 seconds apart. Engelhardt scored his second of the game and fourth of the weekend at 13:06 and freshman Brandon Schwartz scored his first collegiate goal at 13:54. The Saints got one back when freshman T.J. Treveleyan scored his first college goal on a power play deflection over the shoulder of Huskie goalie Rick Cazares at 18:11 of the second.<\/p>\n
The Saints stormed back to take a 4-3lead early in the third. Fifth-year senior Jack O’Brien scored his first of the year on a stuff-in at 5:19 and junior Dan Dupuis scored his first collegiate goal on a power play at 10:38.<\/p>\n
The Huskies’ Murphy then forced overtime when he snapped a shot between Saint goalie Mike McKenna and the post after Michigan Tech pulled its goalie in favor of an extra attacker.<\/p>\n
