A pair of championships<\/strong> Makenna Newkirk had two goals and an assist on Friday versus the Huskies, as did Northeastern’s Kendall Coyne in a losing effort. Alex Carpenter and Haley Skarupa chipped in with a goal and two helpers. Kenzie Kent scored the winning goal with two seconds left in the second period and also had an assist.<\/p>\n Katie Burt made 16 saves against the Catamounts on Sunday to clinch the top spot. Andie Anastos scored the only goal BC would need 6:35 into the contest. Meghan Grieves and Kent added tallies in the second and third periods, respectively. Madison Litchfield made 39 stops for UVM.<\/p>\n The Eagles started the week with another trophy, taking home their second Beanpot in three years, thanks to a 7-0 drubbing of Northeastern in the final. Dana Trivigno celebrated the accomplishment with a hat trick, scoring all of her goals in the final frame, and mixing in a primary assist along the way. Burt enjoyed a 22-save shutout, and Skarupa, Newkirk, Kent, and Megan Keller found the net as well.<\/p>\n Back on top in the WCHA<\/strong> Ann-Renée Desbiens’ 13-save shutout in the 4-0 win over the Mavericks on Saturday gave her 16, one short of the NCAA season record. Sydney McKibbon scored twice for the Badgers, who also got goals from Erika Sowchuk and Baylee Wellhausen.<\/p>\n Wisconsin pounded MSU, 8-1, on Sunday. Senior defenseman Courtney Burke had a huge Senior Day with a goal and four assists. Emily Clark, Annie Pankowski, and Sophia Shaver all had three-point games, including two goals from Clark and one by Pankowski.<\/p>\n Quinnipiac on the brink<\/strong> Sydney Rossman made 25 saves to earn her 13th shutout, 3-0 over St. Lawrence. Melissa Samoskevich and Emma Woods scored and assisted, and Nicole Brown also potted a goal.<\/p>\n Cayley Mercer’s extra-attacker goal in the final minute gained No. 5 Clarkson a 2-2 tie and prevented Quinnipiac from clinching on Saturday in Hamden. Samoskevich had positioned the Bobcats for a win with a power-play goal 10 minutes earlier. Woods also scored for Quinnipiac, and Loren Gabel had the other tally for the Golden Knights.<\/p>\n How the rest of the top 10 fared<\/strong> Koelzer scored 25 seconds into overtime to push Princeton over St. Lawrence, 4-3, and keep it in position to host a quarterfinal. Brooke Webster, Jenna Marks, and Justine Reyes contributed goals for the Saints, while Keiko DeClerk, Molly Contini, and Molly Strabley produced the earlier tallies for the Tigers.<\/p>\n No. 10 Colgate got a couple of key wins on the road. The Raiders got a 32-save shutout of Yale from Ashlynne Rando in a 2-0 triumph. Cat Quirion scored 12:30 into the final stanza to break a deadlock, and Jessie Eldridge added a late empty-netter. Hanna Mandl made 21 saves for the Bulldogs, but ultimately, came up one stop short. Colgate came back with a 3-2 defeat of Brown on Saturday. Shannon Ormel’s first goal as a Raider gave her team a lead it would not relinquish with 5:11 gone. Lauren Wildfang and Shelby Perry added goals for Colgate. The Bears’ tallies by Bridget Carey and Maddie Woo were both set up by Sam Donovan.<\/p>\n Minnesota-Duluth’s Maddie Rooney set a program record with 61 saves on Friday, but couldn’t prevent a 7-3 win for No. 3 Minnesota. Hannah Brandt scored twice with an assist, and Milica McMillen also had three points with one goal. Dani Cameranesi and two goals and a helper as the Gophers completed the sweep, 6-2, on Saturday, in a game that saw Amanda Kessel score her first goal since her return to Minnesota’s lineup. Kessel also had an assist in Friday’s game.<\/p>\n No. 7 Bemidji State turned in a home sweep of Ohio State, 3-1 and 6-2. On Friday, Stephanie Anderson scored the winning goal 6:53 into the third period, and Hanna Moher added insurance before another five minutes ticked away. Alexis Joyce had tied the score for the Beavers after the Buckeyes’ Lauren Boyle opened the scoring. Brittni Mowat saved the other 25 OSU shots, and Alex LaMere made 42 saves for the visitors. On Saturday, Kaitlyn Tougas had three points, including a goal, and Joyce scored twice.<\/p>\n St. Cloud State got a split at No. 9 North Dakota in a series that could be a preview of a quarterfinal. Katie Fitzgerald saved all 39 shots from the Fighting Hawks and Molly Illikainen scored a second-period goal to spring a 1-0 upset on Friday. After being shut out for three straight games, UND finally found the net when Becca Kohler struck 7:06 into Saturday’s 3-0 win. Shelby Amsley-Benzie celebrated Senior Day with an 18-save shutout and added an assist on classmate Layla Marvin’s goal. Amy Menke scored and assisted.<\/p>\n Other action<\/strong> Lovisa Selander made 42 saves to cool off Harvard’s offense and gain Rensselaer a 1-1 tie. Grace Zarzecki put the only puck in the net for the Crimson 10 minutes after Shayna Tomlinson had opened the scoring. Emerance Maschmeyer made 25 saves.<\/p>\n Daniels had another two-goal game and assisted on the third in Maschmeyer’s 3-0, 23-save shutout of Union.<\/p>\n Dartmouth also defeated the Dutchwomen, 3-1, on Friday. Kennedy Ottenbreit scored twice, Lindsey Allen had three helpers, and Robyn Chemago made 19 stops.<\/p>\n The Big Green fell at Rensselaer, 2-1, on Saturday. Taylor Schwalbe scored the winning goal unassisted with five minutes left, and Selander made 28 saves.<\/p>\n Cornell got a pair of 4-2 wins to put itself back in the postseason conversation. Taylor Woods led the way with two goals and an assist in a victory over Brown, as Marlene Boissonnault made 31 saves. Hanna Bunton scored the tying and winning goals 69 seconds apart in the third period to defeat Yale.<\/p>\n Boston University scored a half-dozen times in both halves of a home-and-home sweep of New Hampshire. Rebecca Russo and Rebecca Leslie each had two goals and an assist as the Terriers rallied from two down with a five-goal third period in a 6-4 decision. Leslie’s short-handed goal with 3:28 left won it. Cassandra Vilgrain scored twice for the Wildcats. Victoria Bach and Sammy Davis had two-goal games in Sunday’s 6-2 victory.<\/p>\n Connecticut eked out a sweep of Maine, 2-1 and 4-3. Leah Buress scored 2:41 into overtime to give the Huskies the win on Friday, after Elaine Chuli had made 39 saves. Brittany Berisoff had two goals on Saturday for the Huskies.<\/p>\n Providence got a series win in a home-and-home with Merrimack. Christina Putigna had a goal and two assists as the Friars took the road game, 4-1, with Madison Myers making 28 saves. Samantha Ridgewell made 40 saves for the Warriors, and Paige Voight and Madison Morey scored power-play goals as Merrimack rallied for a 2-2 tie.<\/p>\n Mercyhurst ran its win streak to four with a sweep at RIT, 4-1 and 2-0. In the opener, Rachael Smith had a goal and an assist, Emily Janiga added two helpers, and Sarah McDonnell made 20 stops. McDonnell denied all 11 shots on Saturday, and Jetta Rackleff’s 38 saves didn’t prevent goals by Brooke Hartwick and Janiga.<\/p>\n Syracuse kept pace with 6-1 and 3-2 wins over Robert Morris. Jessica Sibley and Nicole Renault spurred the offense with a goal and two assists apiece in the opener. Jenn Gilligan made 22 saves and the Orange scored three straight on Saturday, capped by Emily Costales’ eventual game winner.<\/p>\n Penn State and Lindenwood traded shutout wins. Shannon Yoxheimer scored twice and Celine Whitlinger stopped all 23 shots as the Nittany Lions won, 3-0. \nIn the ECAC, No. 4 Quinnipiac came up a goal short of locking down the season title, but it can sew it up with a win over last-place Union at home on Friday.<\/p>\n
\nClarkson pulled ahead of No. 8 Princeton with a 2-1 win on Friday over the Tigers. Brielle Bellerive scored at 6:43 of the final period to lift the Golden Knights to the victory. Amanda Titus and the Tigers’ Kelsey Koelzer traded second-period goals. Shea Tiley made 17 saves, while Kimberly Newell turned away 30 shots to keep Princeton close.<\/p>\n
\nHarvard defeated Boston University, 5-3, in the consolation game of the Beanpot. Maddie Elia had given the Terriers a 3-1 lead into the first intermission with two goals and an assist on Sammy Davis’ tally. The Crimson rallied behind their top line, including two goals and two assists by Miye D’Oench. Karly Heffernan and Sydney Daniels had three-point games, with Daniels scoring twice.<\/p>\n
