Ferris State at Michigan (Thursday/Friday)

Jack: Not sure what to make of Ferris right now. They’re 2-5-1, with their only wins coming against Mercyhurst and Western Michigan. But they haven’t played badly. Still, I can’t see the Bulldogs winning any games in Ann Arbor right now. Wolverines 4-2, 2-1

Sean: I think Ferris makes a game out of it, but I don’t see them pulling off a victory. Wolverines 3-0, 4-3

Alaska Anchorage at Lake Superior State

Jack: I honestly didn’t see the Lakers getting rocked by Michigan State last week — especially considering how well they played against Sparty last season. Anchorage comes into the Sault looking for its first win. I think this is a split, with UAA getting their first win Saturday. Lakers 4-2, Seawolves 2-1

Sean: Losing in East Lansing could be a necessary wake-up call for the Lakers. Returning home is also a boost. Feels like a sweep to me. Lakers 3-1, 5-2

Bowling Green at Michigan Tech

Jack: Tech cant be too happy about losing twice in Mankato. I think they’ll take it out on Bowling Green with a sweep. Huskies 4-2, 3-0

Sean: The Falcons freshman have grown up quite a bit this season and they’ll be asked to step up in a big stage against Tech. This may be the most entertaining series of the weekend. Falcons 3-2 (shootout), Huskies 2-1 (OT).

Minnesota State at Northern Michigan

Jack: NMU gets its first real conference test against the Mavs this week. The Wildcats have played just one true home game — they beat LSSU Oct. 7. I think they’ll get a split with MSU, despite how well the Mavs have been playing. Wildcats 4-1, Mavericks 5-2

Sean: Getting a true home series should be a nice boost for Northern Michigan, but it won’t be enough to slow down Minnesota State. Mavericks 4-3, 3-2

Bemidji State at Alaska

Jack: The trip from Bemidji to Fairbanks is always a tough one, but the Beavers always seem to play well up there: They’re 4-1-1 against the Nanooks on the road. I think they get two more wins this weekend. Beavers 4-0, 3-1

Sean: Last season I picked against the Beavers when they made their trips to Alaska. I’m not making that mistake again. Beavers 2-0, 3-1

Alabama Huntsville at Arizona State

Jack: Some sweet Sun Belt hockey action this weekend in Tempe! The Chargers had a tough time at Cornell — something didn’t expect, especially after how well they played against Michigan Tech. Dare I pick a split again? Why not? Chargers 3-1, Sun Devils 5-1

Sean: This is a difficult series to get a read on. Chargers played well against Tech but struggled with Cornell. Last week I picked the Chargers, this week I’m going the other way. Sun Devils 4-2, 3-0
