Nine others still remain, with seven starting Saturday and two on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>The annual batch of Holiday tournaments adds to the festive nature of the season, and is a great boon for college hockey junkies, especially those with satellite dishes. For the teams, these games are also fun, coming back from the holidays and getting to go, in many cases, to places you have never played before, and play against teams you rarely, if ever, play.<\/p>\n<p>But it can be more than that, especially for the teams jockeying for potential NCAA position. And teams take a great sense of pride in winning the hardware associated with the event, while most coaches enjoy the chance to test their squads.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We look forward to it. I think it will be two good days,&#8221; says Boston College coach Jerry York, who will participate in the Great Lakes Invitational starting Dec. 27. &#8220;We try to get in tournaments that will mean something if you win them, and this is certainly one of them. It would mean something to us.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s certainly an important championship.
