Must games. Everybody in the SUNYAC has got ’em, for this weekend and the final two of the regular season. The next two days could see the winnowing of the post-season pack, with a team or two in the nine-team league falling away from the top (playoff bound) sextet. What we’re likely to see is some pretty desperate hockey, which should add to the excitement. Must games.
Potsdam at Fredonia

Both teams are currently out of the top six, so neither can afford to squander any points. Potsdam has recorded just one SUNYAC win on the road this year, while the Blue Devils have won just once in league play anywhere since Nov. 9. That one happened to be in Potsdam. The guess here is that Fredonia sweeps the series. Fredonia 2-1

Brockport at Geneseo

Genny sits in second place and has its eyes on a SUNYAC regular season title. Brockport is in fourth, but is just four points out of last place. Given their predicament, the Golden Eagles will pin their hopes on keeping Geneseo’s balanced attack off-stride. Even so, the Ice Knights figure to be too strong and should prevail. Geneseo 5-2

Morrisville at Cortland

Once given up for dead — dead last, that is – Morrisville has vaulted itself into the thick of the playoff hunt with three consecutive league wins, while the Red Dragons have sagged to the basement. The Mustangs will play first place Oswego on Friday, but regardless of how they do there, they should be riding a wave of confidence into Cortland.
