Patty was diagnosed with brain cancer, and after two surgeries, two rounds of chemotherapy and two rounds of radiation in February, decided to live the last days of her life watching her sons play hockey for Colorado College.<\/p>\n<p>Just this past Thursday, Marty received the Hobey Baker Award at the annual Hobey Baker Banquet, and Friday was named &#8220;Marty Sertich Day&#8221; in the state of Minnesota by Governor Tim Palenty.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Patty Sertich, the mother of Mike and Hobey Baker Award Winner Marty Sertich, passed away on Saturday morning.
