{"id":33234,"date":"2010-11-18T19:02:24","date_gmt":"2010-11-19T01:02:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.uscho.com\/?p=33234"},"modified":"2010-11-18T19:03:53","modified_gmt":"2010-11-19T01:03:53","slug":"dennehy-extended-at-merrimack-through-2016","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wwwproxy.uscho.com\/2010\/11\/18\/dennehy-extended-at-merrimack-through-2016\/","title":{"rendered":"Dennehy extended at Merrimack through 2016"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Merrimack head coach Mark Dennehy has received a contract extension that will see him stay behind the Warriors&#8217; bench through the 2015-2016 season.<\/p>\n<p>Merrimack is 17-5-3 at home in its last 25 games, dating back to the end of the 2008-2009 season.<\/p>\n<p>Last season, Dennehy was named the Hockey East Co-Coach and All-New England Coach of the Year, returning the Warriors to the Hockey East playoffs for the first time since 2004. He also led Merrimack to 16 wins, most in Division I history, and defeated every Hockey East team at least once while winning a playoff game for the first time since 1998.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It is very exciting to know that Mark Dennehy will be the leader of the Merrimack hockey program for at least the next six years,&#8221; said Merrimack Director of Athletics Glenn Hofmann in a statement. &#8220;Mark has built this program the right way, taking no shortcuts during the process and instead has recruited students who are leaders in the classroom and among their peers on the Merrimack campus.
