The Dallas Stars signed two college underclassmen Monday in Boston University junior forward Alex Chiasson<\/a> and Miami junior forward Reilly Smith<\/a>.<\/p>\n Both players saw their teams eliminated in last weekend’s regional playoffs.<\/p>\n “We’re excited to have Alex join the (AHL’s) Texas Stars for the remainder of their season,” said Stars GM Joe Nieuwendyk in a statement. “He has had an impressive college career and we look forward to watching him continue to develop as a professional in our system.”<\/p>\n Chiasson played in 107 games in three seasons for the Terriers, scoring 36 goals and 61 assists for 97 points. He served as an assistant captain this past season.<\/p>\n Smith will join the Stars for the club’s upcoming four-game road trip and will be added to the NHL roster.<\/p>\n Dallas’ third-round selection (69th overall) in the 2009 NHL draft, Smith led Miami and the CCHA with 30 goals and 18 assists in 39 games this season.
