Hockey East is looking to hire a full-time officiating coordinator and hopes to have the position filled on or about July 1.

Currently, Richard Decaprio is the supervisor of officials, a part-time position, and John Jones is Decaprio’s assistant.

According to the new job description, an ideal applicant should have at least five years of officiating or coaching experience and organizational and leadership skills. The job duties also entail working with and training on-ice officials, developing a budget for the officials and will resolve conflicts between teams and officials.

The position’s salary will be commensurate with experience.

CCHA director of officiating Steve Piotrowski was recently named to a similar position for the Big Ten, starting in 2013.
