{"id":54085,"date":"2013-11-08T14:53:31","date_gmt":"2013-11-08T20:53:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.uscho.com\/?p=54085"},"modified":"2013-11-08T14:53:31","modified_gmt":"2013-11-08T20:53:31","slug":"stevenson-women-tab-former-amherst-assistant-johnson-as-new-head-coach","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wwwproxy.uscho.com\/2013\/11\/08\/stevenson-women-tab-former-amherst-assistant-johnson-as-new-head-coach\/","title":{"rendered":"Stevenson women tab former Amherst assistant Johnson as new head coach"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Stevenson announced recently that Tracy Johnson, former interim head coach and assistant at Amherst, has been named the second head coach in program history, replacing Shera Vis, who was named an assistant coach at St. Cloud State.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Goals for this season are to continue to constantly develop and get better every single day, as well as get a few more in the win column than last season,&#8221; Johnson said in a statement. &#8220;Any improvement in our record is a positive step. I know if we take care of things on our end in practice and off the ice, the success in games will come. The ultimate goal is for a national championship. Period. Sooner rather than later.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Most recently, Johnson served as the head coach of the Midfairfield CT Stars U19 team and as the head coach of the Minnesota Jr. Chill U8, U10 and U12 programs.<\/p>\n<p>Johnson, a 2010 Boston College graduate and former defenseman for the Eagles, served as an assistant coach at Amherst in 2011-12 and before that appointment, spent one year as an assistant coach at Arlington Catholic (Mass.)
