\nAs is often the case, the depth of talent was such that we could have added a line or two and not run out of worthy performers. Some great players were left off, and that was a problem with each of our drafts of a line chart. Forwards, defensemen, goaltenders — there weren’t enough slots at any position. Goalie in particular is an impossible position to rank, because “success” has different thresholds on some teams than it does on others.<\/p>\n
We tried to avoid borrowing from Peter to pay Paul, but we did short the All-Rookie team by one defenseman, in part because we felt all of the league rookies of the year and the country’s top freshman scorer were all deserving.<\/p>\n
The resulting 24 players represent 15 different squads. Minnesota leads with five honors, while NCAA Champion Clarkson has three. Eight players are seniors, while six are juniors. Three of the four sophomores named made the first team.<\/p>\n
