{"id":65581,"date":"2015-09-15T19:28:40","date_gmt":"2015-09-16T00:28:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.uscho.com\/?p=65581"},"modified":"2015-09-15T19:28:49","modified_gmt":"2015-09-16T00:28:49","slug":"new-hampshire-promotes-stephanie-jones-to-womens-associate-head-coach","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wwwproxy.uscho.com\/2015\/09\/15\/new-hampshire-promotes-stephanie-jones-to-womens-associate-head-coach\/","title":{"rendered":"New Hampshire promotes Jones to women&#8217;s associate head coach"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>New Hampshire announced Tuesday that Stephanie Jones has been promoted to women&#8217;s associate head coach for the upcoming 2015-16 season, her 10th season with the program in a coaching capacity.<\/p>\n<p>Jones, a 2005 UNH graduate, joined the New Hampshire coaching staff as an assistant coach in the 2006-07 season and retained that position until assuming the role of interim co-head coach during the 2013-14 season. She resumed the role of assistant coach last year.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Stephanie&#8217;s work ethic, commitment, experience and loyalty to the University of New Hampshire and the women&#8217;s hockey program over the past 10 years as a coach and four years as a player is unmatched,&#8221; second-year head coach Hilary Witt said in a statement. &#8220;She very much deserves this promotion and our student-athletes will greatly benefit from it.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I would personally like to thank Coach Witt and the athletic department for this opportunity,&#8221; Jones added. &#8220;The University of New Hampshire is an outstanding place to work and I am honored to be part of such a prestigious women&#8217;s ice hockey program.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Following graduation, Jones began her collegiate coaching career as an assistant coach at Colgate for the 2005-06 season. She returned to her alma mater one year later and helped UNH advance to the NCAA tournament four consecutive years from 2007 through 2010.<\/p>\n<p>Jones was elevated to the positon of interim co-head coach in December 2013 and held that position through the remainder of that season.
