Dave “pulled the goalie” last week in a desperate attempt to close ground, but as usually happens when that tactic is employed, he just widened the gap. With just these three games left, Jim has clinched the picks title.

A tip of the fedora to Jimmy (and a well-timed one on St. Patrick’s Day)!

Jim last week: 7-2

Dave’s record-to-date: 105-40-30 (.686)

Jim’s record-to-date: 118-35-28 (.729)

Dave’s pick: I know the Huskies have given the Eagles all they can handle in recent games, but I’m still going with BC all the way to another Hockey East and national championship.

BC 5 NU 4 (OT)

Jim’s pick: I love the way that NU is playing but I really love the way BC is playing. Don’t think it will be as close as Dave does.

BC 5, NU 2

Dave’s pick: The safe pick would be to go with UNH. After all, the Wildcats and BC were neck-and-neck all season long for the regular season title. But when it comes to the Warriors, I believe!

MC 4 UNH 3 (OT)

Jim’s pick: This one will not end in regulation. But I firmly believe that UNH is on track for a big March this season.

UNH 3, MC 2

Dave’s pick: I’m picking BC over any opponent. If, however, Northeastern upsets the Eagles in the semifinals, that opens the gates wide open. Any three of the other teams would have a great shot. I’d go with whichever team from the UNH/MC bracket advanced, but not by much.

BC 3 UNH/MC 1 or UNH/MC 4 NU 3 (OT)

Jim’s pick: I actually think that this is UNH’s weekend. They will finally dispell some March demons. Whether that will last until April is yet to be seen. I can’t use all the slashes like Dave.
